Chiang Mai’s zipline parks are in the forested hills outside the city. A couple are in Mae Rim, about 45 minutes northwest. Several are in the Doi Saket hills to the northeast, an hour or a little more away. Most sell a half day with a shared hotel transfer, a safety briefing, time on the lines and a meal.

The parks differ in ways the photos don’t show: minimum age, weight limit, number of platforms, and whether a coaster or luge is included. This page compares five parks on those facts. They’re listed alphabetically, not ranked.

Prices change often and vary by seller, so we don’t list them. Check each park’s official website. Course details come from the parks’ own websites where they exist, checked in October 2026.

Five zipline parks compared

Dragon Flight (Doi Saket)

  • Course: 55 platforms and 26 ziplines. The longest line is about 765 m. There are also 3 abseils, sky bridges, a spiral staircase and a tree house, with a double safety cable throughout.
  • Limits: ages 4–65, up to 120 kg. Not recommended in pregnancy, or for people with diabetes, epilepsy, a mental health condition, or a past operation or injury.
  • Included: lunch or dinner, fruit, coffee or tea, water, first-aid insurance and a T-shirt.
  • Pickup: from your hotel by air-conditioned van, in four slots from 06:30–07:00 to 12:30–13:00. The park advises against driving there yourself because of the road conditions.

Jungle Flight (Doi Saket hills)

  • Course: three main options. JF1 has 33 platforms and 19 ziplines (longest 800 m), an abseil and 5 sky bridges. JF2 adds two platforms and a 1,100 m roller coaster. JF3 has 21 platforms and 17 ziplines. Expect 1.5–2.5 hours on the course.
  • Limits: ages 8–70 and 20–120 kg on the JF1 page. Age rules for the coaster option may differ, so check. Closed-toe shoes only. Not allowed in pregnancy or with serious heart, lung, kidney or liver conditions, epilepsy or a recent major injury.
  • Included (JF1): Thai buffet and fruit, water, tea or coffee, first-aid insurance and the round-trip transfer.
  • Pickup: from Chiang Mai city, in slots from 08:00–08:30 to 12:30–13:00, plus an early slot at 06:30–07:00. The park says the course is about an hour’s drive away.

Phoenix Adventure Park (Mae Rim)

  • Course: two zipline programs. Program A has 10 platforms and 6 ziplines (about 20–30 minutes). Program B has 24 platforms and 14 ziplines (40 minutes to an hour). The park also has a high ropes course (ages 8–65, from 120 cm), a small train, a playground and a sheep farm.
  • Limits: ages 6–65, minimum height 110 cm. The program pages say 110 kg maximum and the FAQ says 120 kg, so check.
  • Included: first-aid insurance, gloves, a bottle of water and a train ticket. The program pages list the round-trip transfer and meal as an add-on.
  • Pickup: morning (09:00–09:30, back 13:00–13:30) or afternoon (13:00–13:30, back 17:00–18:00). The park is in Mae Raem, about 18 km and 45 minutes from the city, and open daily 08:30–17:30. If you drive yourself, arrive before 16:00.

Pongyang Jungle Coaster & Zipline (Mae Rim)

  • Course: zipline packages from about 12 platforms up to a full course of around 34. Most people come for the jungle coaster: a two-seat cart on a rail of about 1.2 km, with a hand brake so you control the speed. There’s also a quick jump, a giant swing and a jungle bike.
  • Limits: we couldn’t find published age, height or weight limits. Ask before you book, especially with children.
  • Included: packages are listed with a buffet meal, water and a T-shirt.
  • Pickup: sold with packages for two or more people. The park is in Pong Yaeng, on the Mae Rim–Samoeng road toward Mon Jam, about 30 km and 45 minutes from the city.
  • We couldn’t find an official website for Pongyang, so these details come from 2026 listings. Confirm with the park.

Skyline Jungle Luge (Doi Saket)

  • Course: the Express package covers 38 platforms and 21 ziplines (longest 900 m), 2 abseils, 5 sky bridges and a giant swing, with about 1.5–2 hours on the course. The Exciting package pairs a shorter zipline course (19 platforms, 9 ziplines) with a 2,100 m luge kart track. The Extreme package combines ziplines and the luge.
  • Limits: from 4 years, up to 110 kg. Not recommended for people over 65 or in pregnancy. At check-in you give a passport or Thai ID number, age, gender and nationality for the insurance.
  • Included: round-trip transfer, Thai buffet lunch, tea and coffee, and first-aid insurance.
  • Pickup: from your hotel or a meeting point. In the park’s sample timeline, pickup is at 07:00–07:30, the course starts at 09:00, and you’re back at the hotel by 13:00–13:30. The park is in Thep Sadet, Doi Saket district.

Other names you’ll see

Flight of the Gibbon, near Mae Kampong, still appears in older articles and on some booking sites. Wikipedia reports that the Chiang Mai course closed in May 2025, and we couldn’t reach an official website to confirm either way, so check before booking anything under that name. Kingkong Smile and Eagle Track also appear on booking sites. We couldn’t find official websites with current details for either, so they’re not compared here.

How to choose

  • Young children: Dragon Flight and Skyline list a minimum age of 4, and Phoenix 6 (with a 110 cm minimum height). Jungle Flight starts at 8.
  • Short on time: the Mae Rim parks are closer. Phoenix’s programs take 20 minutes to an hour on the lines.
  • Long single lines: Skyline lists a 900 m line, Jungle Flight 800 m and Dragon Flight about 765 m.
  • Lots of platforms: Dragon Flight lists 55.
  • More than ziplines: Pongyang has its coaster, Skyline its luge kart track, and Jungle Flight a roller coaster on the JF2 option.
  • Heavier riders: limits run from 110 to 120 kg, so check yours.
  • Other sights the same day: the Mae Rim parks are on the same side of the city as Mae Sa Elephant Camp and Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden.

What a zipline morning looks like

The parks’ published timelines are similar. A van collects you between about 07:00 and 09:30. At the base you register, get fitted with a harness and helmet, and hear a safety briefing. After the course comes the meal, and a morning slot usually has you back at your hotel in the early afternoon. Most parks also run afternoon slots.

How to get there

The park’s transfer. Most packages include a shared transfer from the city in fixed pickup slots. If ziplining is your only plan and your hotel is in the pickup area, this is the simple option.

Grab or Bolt. Works for the trip out to Mae Rim, but cars for the ride back from the hills can be harder to find.

Your own car or scooter. Possible for Mae Rim. The roads to the Doi Saket parks wind through the hills, and Dragon Flight advises visitors not to drive themselves.

Car with driver for the day. Worth considering if your package doesn’t include a transfer, your hotel is outside the pickup area, or you want to add other stops. Convenient for families. Arrange it in advance.

When to go

Time of day. Morning slots are cooler, and in the rainy season, storms are more likely in the afternoon.

Season.

  • November to February: cool, clear and the busiest months. Book a day or more ahead for weekends and Thai holidays.
  • March and April: burning season. Haze can hide the views from the high lines, so check the air quality first.
  • May to October: green season. Light rain doesn’t usually stop the lines (Phoenix sells raincoats on site), but lightning or strong wind does. Dragon Flight says it may cancel in a thunderstorm, high wind or heavy rain.

Safety and what to wear

  • Shoes: closed-toe sports shoes. Jungle Flight requires them, and sandals are a bad idea everywhere.
  • Clothes: long trousers and sleeves help with harness rub and insects. Phoenix recommends both.
  • Leave behind dangling jewellery and scarves, and tie back long hair.
  • Bring sunscreen and insect repellent. Ask before you take a phone on the lines.
  • Health: Dragon Flight, Jungle Flight and Skyline rule out or advise against ziplining in pregnancy, and Dragon Flight and Jungle Flight also list epilepsy. Check the list for your park.
  • Equipment: Dragon Flight, Jungle Flight and Phoenix say their lines use two cables. It’s fair to ask any park how its equipment is checked and what its first-aid insurance covers.
